Indonesia Thrive, Inc. was established in 2016 to help continue the ministry of John and Marjorie Malanowski, long after they left the field. Their burden was simply to reach the lost for Christ. John was promoted to be present with Christ on December 29th, 2022 from Bali while sleeping next to his bride of 69 years. Marjorie is now retired and lives in Florida.
John loved to preach how "The harvest truly is great, but the laborers are few..." as Jesus said in Luke 10:2. Jesus also said in Matthew 28:19 to "Go therefore and make disciples..." Millions of Indonesians have yet to hear of Jesus Christ! Our mission is to help increase the number of laborers and disciples!
John and Marjorie were married at the First Baptist Church of Traverse City, Michigan in 1953. They have given their lives to serving the Lord Jesus Christ for 65+ years! John initially attended Moody Bible Institute and later transferred to Tennessee Temple University, where he graduated in 1955. Marjorie also attended the same university. John served as a pastor for 16 years in addition to three years as an evangelist. From 1974-2022, he and Marjorie served faithfully as missionaries to Indonesia, on the islands of Java and Bali. They had five children and Marjorie continues to be proud of their five beautiful grandchildren.
Out of love for what the Lord has done through John and Marjorie, their children founded Indonesia Thrive to carry out their legacy of love for the Indonesian people! We are so excited to see what the Lord has in store for future generations across Indonesia!
We are in the multiplication business. Our mission, again, is to help increase the number of laborers! Not only do we want to help our fellow believers in Indonesia become grounded in God’s Word, but also we want them to become incredible disciple makers! We want them to know God’s love and grace in the same way we have! Romans 10:15 says, “And how shall they preach, except they be sent? As it is written, how beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace and bring glad tidings of good things!”
Indonesia Thrive provides you a way to continue or start your tax-deductible financial support to help spread the Gospel throughout Indonesia. Please realize that 100% of your gift goes towards the needs in Indonesia!
